Homemade Chicken Brooder With Temperature Control

Brooding temperature refers to the temperature in the brooding house. In some places, the brooding 

device is used. In comparison, the temperature in the brooding house is lower than the edge of the 

brooding device.

Normally, during brooding, the appropriate temperature for the brooding house is:

1-2 days old, at a temperature of 35 degree centigrade;

3-7 days old, at a temperature of 32-35 degree centigrade;

7- 14 days old, at a temperature of 29-32 degree centigrade;

14-21 Day old, at a temperature of 27-29 degree centigrade;

 after 22 days old, the temperature is 21 degree centigrade.

 Chicken performance at different Temperature

Besides the thermometer, we can also measure the temperature based on the activity performance

of chickens. At appropriate temperatures, the chicks are active and move lively, the feathers are 

smooth and tidy, and the appetite is strong, the wings are extended, the action is quick, the sleeping

is quiet, the sleeping chickens are with stretched head and legs, the chicks are evenly distributed 

around the heat source; 

when the temperature is too low, small chicks will gather near the heat source, squeeze each other;

slow, necking, screaming with eyes closed, restless sleep; 

temperature is too high, the flock away from heat, mouth breathing, breathing speed up, 

often drink plenty of water.
